Madden Controls
Learn Madden Controls and Stay Ahead of
the Game
Anyone who is familiar with the
game of football knows that in order for a team to be
successful, it will take talented players with the ability to
make plays as well as a skilled and experienced coaching staff
to call the right plays. However, what most people do not know
is that there has to be a high level of intelligence on the
player’s part to understand and read their opponents on the
field formations in order to predict what sort of play they are
going to run. This helps to be able to adjust the formation to
stop the play cold. While this can take a lot of time and
practice in the world of football, today’s gaming platforms are
becoming so realistic and complicated that you can play the
game, minus the bruised and broken bodies just like it is
played in real life. With the many madden controls a player can
use, you to can become just as perceptive as the football
players you watch on TV every Sunday.
The side of the field where players have to be extremely
reactive and flexible in terms of formation is the defensive
side of the game. By correctly reading the formation of the
offensive team, a defense can make the adjustments to stop the
run, pressure the quarterback, and drop more defensive players
into coverage to stop the pass. The most basic of these
formation shifts when it comes to madden controls is stopping
the run. These shifts in defensive formation will largely be
done with a 4-3 defense, the most basic of defenses, which
means you will have 4 defensive linemen up on the line of
scrimmage and 3 linebackers at the rear of the line.
A good example of madden controls is when the offense lines
up in the I-formation. If you notice the tight end in lined up
on the right, the chances are good that the play will be a run
to the right. By using the "LB" + left on the left analog stick
on the 360 or "L1" + left on the left analog stick on the PS3
you can shift your defense to the left and stack the line
against the right side run. With other moves you can call for
an all out blitz, spread the line to create pressure on the
quarterback, you can crash to the line in to prevent an easy
run up the middle, or crash the line out to prevent the
quarterback from rolling out of the pocket and getting more
time to find his hot routes.
The fact is that if you have not yet used these shift
controls in the Madden game you have no idea what you are
missing. While most people will never play football
professionally, using some of these advanced features applied
with madden controls allows you to get closer than you ever
have been before.
